Professional Design Systems
I got my start in technology in 1983 at about the same time the IBM PC was first introduced. I was twenty-one years old and working with my father at Professional Design Systems (PDS), his software company which developed desktop accounting applications for CPA's and tax preparation firms. There were just a few family members when we first started, and PDS grew from a handful of local clients to service more than a thousand accounting firms throughout the United States.
PDS was acquired by a division of Thomson Reuters Corporation in 1998.

MedNet Technologies
I co-founded MedNet Technologies (MedNet) in 1999 with my brother to develop websites for hospitals, medical, dental and veterinary practices. Initially, MedNet built websites for many of the health systems in the New York City area -- Weill-Cornell Medical Center, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), NYU Langone Health, Northwell Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Mt. Sinai Hospital -- and the company grew to become the largest within its market segment managing more than 3,500 websites for healthcare entities in 14 countries and employing 60+ staff members.
The website development process at MedNet proved to be inefficient with the company's growth as it would sometimes take months to launch even the simplest of sites. So, we developed our own site-builder application to leverage our Patient Education Library of over 8,800 health conditions and launch websites in shorter timelines. Efficiency increased and quality improved -- websites that previously had taken weeks to complete were now launched in just a couple of hours.
The site-builder initiative resulted in the automated DIY platform of Dr. Leonardo.
MedNet was acquired in 2015, while I retained ownership of Dr. Leonardo.
